Exceptional Detroit - Leave the Bluetooth Behind

Thedeer
This morning my wife and kids joined me on a hike at the nature center owned by Bloomfield Hills Public Schools. The center is located just south of Hickory Grove Road off of Franklin (about one-half mile south of the Organic Detroit office.)

The grounds are a criss-cross of well-groomed trails through a mixture of hardwoods and pines older than the township itself. A brand-new visitor's center is full of displays on the indiginous wildlife, and there are enclosures with two rescued white-tailed deer and a red-tailed hawk.

I'd suggest a quick trip down for anyone in/or visiting the Detroit office when you get a chance. Unplug, unwind, leave your bluetooth headset in your car, and take a hike! I have some pictures on my flickr account. Some selects are below:

About AllHands

At Organic, AllHands is a word that we have used regularly. It has meaning to us. It’s collaborative, speaks to whole teams, and it’s a term deeply rooted in our culture—as it is what we call our local office meetings. At AllHands meetings, we share completed work, celebrate successes, and welcome new colleagues.

We have created the AllHands blog to capture the spirit of these gatherings and to give the world a view inside Organic—who we are and how we work. It’s a place where all Organics can share their stories and experiences with each other and with you.
